July 17 marked the SHCC's 3rd Annual Latina Luncheon - and the event was our most successful yet. Over 28 exhibitors and 220 attendees were treated to a high energy, educational event. Between networking and an inspiring keynote by Assemblymember Lori Saldaña, Speaker pro Tempore, attendees left feeling motivated to take on the world as The Next Wave of Latina leaders. "I had a great experience at the Latina Luncheon. It was a great experience because I got to see many successful Latinas. It motivates me even more to keep with my studies and to never give up on my dreams. Also, the workshop that I attended with Norma Andrade was very powerful for me - the exercise that she did
was the most important thing. Because she told us that we could have the all the money in the world, but if we're not happy that wouldn’t matter. I think it is very important for students to attend this because they get to see people of their own race or gender that could motivate them to follow their dreams. Another reason why is because they can network with important people that could be the key to their future."
